The Seven Sisters is the first of the children’s series marking the collaboration between David M. Welch and Aboriginal artist Reggie Sultan. Reggie recounts this Aboriginal story which he learnt from his mother and aunt when he was a child. The story involves the Milky Way star formation known to Europeans as The Pleiades, and to Aboriginal people as The Seven Sisters. The stars, in the form of women, visit the earth and meet Aboriginal hunters before returning to the skies. As a widespread traditional Aboriginal story, it is a must-read for children.
